Bujari court orders support professional for student with ASD and ADHD
The Public Prosecutor's Office of the State of Acre (MPAC) has secured a court decision to guarantee a specialized support professional for a nine-year-old child diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and severe ADHD in Bujari.
The ruling requires the Municipality of Bujari to provide a trained school support professional to accompany the student during all school hours within 48 hours. Failure to comply will result in a daily fine of R$ 1,000 for up to 60 days. The legal action followed an administrative request to the Municipal Education Secretariat that went unanswered. Medical evaluations and multidisciplinary assessments had previously confirmed the necessity of permanent mediation to ensure the child's access to inclusive education and development.
