Bulandshahr court sentences woman and lover to life imprisonment for murder

An Additional District Judge in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, has sentenced Preeti Sharma and her lover, Yogesh, to life imprisonment for the murder of Sharma's husband, Rajkumar. The court also imposed a fine of one lakh rupees each on both convicts, with an additional six months of imprisonment if the fine is not paid.

The incident occurred on February 10 in the Narora area, where the duo, along with an accomplice, allegedly beat Rajkumar with sticks, causing fatal injuries to his head and chest. The investigation revealed that the motive was linked to Preeti's extramarital affair. A key piece of evidence in the trial was a DNA report which confirmed that Rajkumar's son was not biologically his.

While an accomplice named Babbilal was initially named in the FIR filed by the victim's mother, Sushila Sharma, his involvement was not established during the police investigation, and his name was subsequently removed from the case.
