Bulas-Bazar proposes hotel and commercial complex near Gubałówka

The company Bulas-Bazar has unveiled plans for a large-scale service and hotel complex named ‘Centrum Gubałówka’ in Zakopane. Located near the end of the Krupówki pedestrian street, the project is situated on private land currently used as a parking lot.

The revised design features a building with a height of 25 meters, reduced from an initial 29.5 meters. The structure is intended to include three floors for commercial and retail use, a hotel section with dozens of rooms, and a swimming pool. Additionally, the project includes an underground parking garage capable of accommodating several hundred vehicles. The developer has also proposed incorporating green roofs and gardens to improve aesthetics and biological activity.

The investment has raised concerns regarding its impact on the local landscape and views of Gubałówka. Agata Nowakowska-Wolak, president of the Podhale branch of the Society for the Protection of Monuments, questioned how the building might obstruct the mountain view. Local officials have suggested that the project should proceed through an integrated investment plan to ensure city authorities have influence over its final form.
