Buldan begins Superior grape harvest for export
The harvest season for Superior grapes, an early-maturing variety, has commenced in the Buldan district of Denizli. Cultivated across approximately 3,000 decares, the grapes are being processed through cutting, transporting, and crating for distribution to domestic markets and international destinations, primarily Russia and Europe.
Local producers, such as Ramazan Uğuz, utilize no-till farming methods and protect vines with netting after pruning to ensure high quality. The Superior variety is noted for its low sugar content, making it a preferred choice for individuals with diabetes or those on specific diets.
Due to high temperatures, workers begin their shifts in the early morning hours, typically starting around 05:00 or 06:00 and concluding by midday. Buyers report that the current year's yield is both abundant and of high quality, with products being shipped to markets, bazaars, and wholesale centers in Istanbul.
