Buleleng child missing after being swept away at Gerokgak Beach

An 11-year-old boy, Gede Adimas Raditya Wibawa, went missing after being swept away by currents while swimming at Gerokgak Beach in Buleleng, Bali, on Thursday afternoon. The victim, a fifth-grade student, was swimming with two friends using styrofoam pieces as floats when strong currents pulled them toward the open sea.

While local residents managed to rescue the two companions, the boy was swept away by waves and disappeared. Following the report, the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office deployed personnel to the site to conduct search operations using rubber boats and land-based sweeps along the coastline.

As of the end of the first day of searching, the victim has not been found. A large-scale search operation involving various agencies, including the Bali Regional Police, the Indonesian Navy, and local community members, is scheduled to continue for up to seven days, depending on weather and current conditions.
