Bulgaria: 40 individuals declared annual incomes over 9.6 million BGN

According to data from the National Revenue Agency, 40 individuals in Bulgaria declared annual incomes exceeding 9.6 million BGN last year. Each of these individuals earned an average monthly income of over 800,000 BGN. These earnings include salaries, rental income, and profits from sole proprietorships or agricultural activities.

The total income tax owed by these 40 individuals for the previous year amounts to 88.4 million BGN. The data shows fluctuations in high earners throughout the year; for instance, 19 people had monthly taxable incomes above 800,000 BGN in January, a number that rose to 95 in November and 135 in December, likely due to year-end corporate bonuses.

Five individuals reported the highest annual incomes specifically from labor relations, totaling over 30 million BGN. These high earners primarily worked in the manufacturing, trade, construction, and professional/scientific research sectors.
