Bulgaria distributes 50 euro inflation checks to 440,000 citizens
The Social Assistance Agency (ASP) has begun distributing a one-time 50 euro payment to 439,996 citizens as part of the ‘Inflation Check’ program. This initiative, approved by the Council of Ministers on September 24, 2026, aims to compensate vulnerable groups for rising fuel and food prices.
The total amount distributed is approximately 21.99 million euros. Eligible recipients include low-income families, individuals receiving social assistance, children in foster care or without parental care up to age 21, and military invalids. Those qualifying for multiple categories will receive only a single 50 euro payment.
Funds have been transferred to bank accounts and Bulgarian Posts. Cash payments are available at postal branches until October 26. Individuals unable to collect the funds by this date may do so during two additional periods: from November 16 to 26, and from December 15 to 23.
