Bulgaria and China discuss direct flights and tourism cooperation

Bulgarian Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov and Chinese Minister of Culture and Tourism Song Yeli met in Beijing to discuss deepening cooperation in the tourism sector. The discussions focused on increasing tourist exchange and enhancing Bulgaria's visibility in the Chinese market.

Key topics included the potential for direct air connections between Bulgaria and China, accelerating visa issuance procedures for Chinese tourists, and fostering direct contact between the tourism businesses of both nations. Minister Dimitrov highlighted Bulgaria's offerings, such as cultural heritage, spa tourism, nature, and gastronomy, as assets to attract more visitors.

Additionally, the ministers discussed organizing an economic forum for Chinese and Bulgarian tour operators during the Rose Festival in Kazanlak to create new business contacts and joint tourism products. The meeting took place during Dimitrov's visit to Beijing for the 19th session of the Bulgaria-China Intergovernmental Mixed Commission for Economic Cooperation.
