Bulgaria announces administrative reforms to reduce business bureaucracy

Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Innovation and Industry, Alexander Pulev, has announced initiatives aimed at reducing bureaucratic burdens and accelerating administrative procedures to create a more predictable business environment.

During working meetings with employer organizations, Pulev emphasized that the Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Industry will serve as a pilot platform for implementing the principle of ‘silent consent.’ The proposed reforms focus on shortening administrative deadlines, reducing required documentation, and accelerating the digitalization of services. Other key measures under discussion include the introduction of ‘single window’ services and improving the interoperability of state registries to allow institutions to exchange information directly.

The government intends to consolidate feedback from the business community into legislative proposals, which are expected to be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration in the coming weeks. Pulev stated that the goal is to ensure these reforms result in practical, working solutions rather than remaining merely as strategies on paper.
