Bulgaria announces diplomatic internships for students abroad
Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova announced a new initiative during her official visit to the Netherlands to allow Bulgarian students studying abroad to undertake internships at Bulgarian diplomatic missions. Proposed locations for these internships include The Hague, London, Paris, Berlin, and Vienna. The program aims to bridge the gap between academic education and diplomatic practice, encouraging young Bulgarian talents to engage with the country’s diplomatic service.
During her visit to The Hague, Minister Petrova met with Dutch counterpart Tom Berendsen and the Secretary-General of the Permanent Court of Arbitration, Dr. Marcin Czaplak. As a symbol of Bulgaria’s commitment to international law and peaceful dispute resolution, Bulgaria presented a handcrafted oak lectern to the Permanent Court of Arbitration. The lectern, created by the Trevna School of Applied Arts, features a combination of the Court’s logo and traditional Balkan woodcarving ornaments.
Additionally, the visit included discussions at the Clingendael Institute regarding diplomatic training, institutional cooperation, and connectivity.
