Bulgaria card payments reach 15.1 billion euros in H1 2026

Card payments in Bulgaria reached a total value of 15.1 billion euros during the first half of 2026, representing a 24.8% increase compared to the same period in 2025. According to data from fintech company myPOS, the number of transactions also grew by 19.4%, totaling 386.6 million payments.

Remote and online-initiated payments saw significant growth, increasing by 37.5% in value and 34.5% in transaction volume. These remote transactions accounted for 101.4 million transfers with a total value of 6.6 billion euros.

On the myPOS platform specifically, payment volumes rose by approximately 41% year-on-year in both the first and second quarters. The number of merchant clients using the platform also increased by over 18% during the second quarter compared to the previous year.
