Bulgaria celebrates Unification anniversary with regional events

Various regions in Bulgaria are organizing multi-day programs to commemorate the 141st anniversary of the Unification of Bulgaria, which occurred on September 6, 1885.

In Veliko Tarnovo, the municipality has prepared a series of events including folklore performances, musical concerts such as ‘From Vienna to New York’, and a ‘Sound and Light’ show at the Tsarevets fortress. Official ceremonies will include military rituals, wreath-laying, and the ringing of bells in the old capital. Local museums will remain open throughout the holiday period.

In Soyedinenie, celebrations include book presentations, historical marches, torchlight processions, and a solemn memorial service. The program also features an exhibition of antique weapons, traditional dance performances, and the 51st International Memorial Marathon ‘Soyedinenie’, which runs from the town to Plovdiv.
