Bulgaria: Disheva criticizes Sarafov's signal against Justice Minister

Atanaska Disheva, a member of the judicial college of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), has criticized a recent signal sent by former Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov against the Minister of Justice. Sarafov sent the signal, which alleges political corruption and influence peddling, to the Prime Minister, the SJC, the State Agency for National Security (DANS), and the Minister of Interior.

Disheva argued that the signal was not submitted to a competent authority, noting that such allegations should be directed to the Prosecutor's Office. She suggested that the timing and manner of the communication might be an attempt to divert public attention. Disheva also commented on the timeline for electing a new Prosecutor General, stating that the process will likely take several months following the constitution of a new SJC.
