Bulgaria holds partial mayoral elections in 14 locations

Partial elections are being held across 14 settlements in Bulgaria to elect mayors. In Polski Trambesh, residents are voting for a municipal mayor, while the remaining 13 locations are electing village mayors.

The elections were organized following presidential decrees and are included in the Central Election Commission's calendar. Specific circumstances led to these votes: in Polski Trambesh, the election follows the termination of Georgi Chakrov's mandate after his election as a member of parliament; in Tokachka, the vote follows the death of former mayor Muhamed Mustafa Imam; and in Obitel, the mandate of mayor Ismet Eredzhebov was terminated early.

If a mayor is not elected in the first round in any of these locations, a second round is scheduled for October 25, 2026. This second round will coincide with presidential and vice-presidential elections but will be conducted as separate electoral proceedings.
