Bulgaria launches new Children's Police Departments
New Children's Police Departments have been established in several Bulgarian locations, including Slivo Pole, Dve Mogili, and Sǎedinenie, marking the start of a two-year preventive and educational program.
In Slivo Pole and Dve Mogili, third-grade students have joined the initiative as volunteers. Through practical activities, demonstrations, and meetings with police officers, these students will learn about road safety, personal security, rights, responsibilities, and the prevention of anti-social behavior. In Slivo Pole, the ceremony at St. Paisiy Hilendarski School included local officials and police inspectors, where new volunteers took an oath and received distinctive insignia.
Similarly, in Sǎedinenie, a new department was inaugurated at Nedyalka Shileva School. The program aims to teach students about safety, responsibility, and respect for others while providing insight into the policing profession. Over the next two years, participants will engage in various activities led by police inspectors to foster civic activity and responsible behavior.
