Bulgaria launches state aid for labor mobility to smaller towns

The Employment Agency has launched the application process for the ‘I Choose Bulgaria’ project, which aims to encourage labor mobility from large cities to smaller towns. To qualify, applicants must currently be registered in a municipality with more than 50,000 residents and must relocate to a town or village with fewer than 50,000 residents upon approval.

The financial support package includes up to 480 euros for moving household goods, a monthly accommodation allowance of 207.58 euros for up to 12 months, and a daily transport allowance of 4.09 euros. Additionally, participants may receive a one-time financial incentive equivalent to six average monthly salaries if they maintain employment in the new location for at least eight months.

Applications must be submitted electronically via the Secure Electronic Delivery System using a qualified electronic signature or a personal code from the National Revenue Agency or the National Social Security Institute. The program is designed to revitalize regional economies by providing skilled personnel to local businesses.
