Bulgaria leads economic delegation to China for industrial talks

Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investment and Industry Alexander Pulev is leading a large delegation to China for the 19th session of the Bulgarian-Chinese Intergovernmental Mixed Commission for Economic Cooperation. The delegation includes approximately 30 officials, such as Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov and deputy ministers from the ministries of energy, agriculture, and regional development, alongside a Bulgarian business delegation.

The meetings in Beijing, scheduled for September 10, will focus on expanding economic relations across several strategic sectors, including trade, innovation, digital transformation, transport, energy, agriculture, and tourism. A primary emphasis will be placed on industrial cooperation, specifically within the automotive industry, decarbonization, and green technologies.

Pulev highlighted the importance of the automotive sector, noting it contributes over 10% to Bulgaria's GDP and employs nearly 85,000 people. He stated the mission aims to attract new investments, technologies, and production projects to ensure the sector adapts to global industrial changes. Additionally, the delegation will participate in the China International Fair for Investment and Trade in Xiamen.
