Bulgaria leads several nations in active UEFA club representatives

Bulgaria currently holds a notable position in European club competitions, with two representatives, Levski Sofia and CSKA Sofia, advancing in the current season. According to the UEFA rankings, Bulgaria is positioned 27th with 20,562 points. Despite having a lower overall five-year coefficient than countries such as Sweden, Hungary, Romania, Ukraine, and Slovakia, Bulgaria leads these nations in terms of active participants, as they currently only have one club each progressing in the tournaments.

Levski Sofia has demonstrated significant progress under the ownership of Atanas Bostandzhiev. Since his arrival in April, the club has seen increased financial stability and active participation in the transfer market, allowing the team to retain talent rather than being forced to sell key players. Under coach Julio Velasquez, the team has adopted a modern football philosophy focused on ball possession and attacking play, contributing to their recent competitive performances in European qualifiers.
