Bulgaria marks Sunday of All Saints on June 22

The Bulgarian Orthodox Church designated the second Sunday after Pentecost each year as the "Sunday of all Bulgarian saints" in 1954. This year's observance falls on 22 June.

The holiday commemorates both famous and lesser‑known saints recorded in the "Book of Life," including St King Boris‑Mihail, Saints Cyril and Methodius, St Clement of Ohrid, St Naum of Ohrid, St Ivan of Rila and many others. It is celebrated as a day of prayer and remembrance, with many Bulgarians acknowledging the saints who share their names.

The day serves as a cultural and religious reminder of Bulgaria’s Christian heritage and the historic contributions of these figures to the nation’s spiritual and cultural development.
