Bulgaria Ministry of Interior reports 393 election law violations

The Bulgarian Ministry of Interior has received 393 signals regarding violations of electoral legislation and political rights since the start of the presidential and vice-presidential campaign.

Of these reports, 292 concern vote buying, 27 involve unlawful agitation, two relate to corporate voting, and 72 involve other election-related violations. Authorities have initiated eight criminal proceedings, six of which fall under articles 167 to 169g of the Penal Code. Additionally, 1,691 warning protocols have been issued.

To combat these issues, police have conducted 340 specialized operations across the country. Recent enforcement actions included checks on high-risk locations, criminal elements, and vehicles, resulting in 13 detentions and the identification of seven individuals on national wanted lists.
