Bulgaria NHIF leadership candidates submitted to National Assembly

Candidates for the leadership of Bulgaria’s National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) have been officially submitted to the National Assembly. For the position of manager, two candidates have been proposed: Vladimir Daskalov, nominated by the Progressive Bulgaria parliamentary group, and Stanimir Mihaylov, nominated by the We Continue the Change group.

For the role of deputy manager, Zdravko Shushkov has been proposed by Progressive Bulgaria. The National Assembly will review the candidacies, hold hearings, and proceed to a vote. A candidate must receive more than half of the votes from the present deputies to be elected.

The selection process follows the termination of the mandates of former manager Petko Stefanovski and deputy manager Momchil Mavrov. Currently, Dr. Asen Medzhidiev serves as a deputy manager following a previous parliamentary election.
