Bulgaria police halt 3D‑printed firearms operation in Burgas

On 18 June 2026 the State Agency for National Security (GD BOP) conducted the first specialized raid in Bulgaria against a domestic producer of 3D‑printed weapons in Burgas. The suspect, identified as Simona Radeva, was arrested during the operation.

Searches of the private premises uncovered 3D printers, polymer rolls, a drying unit for finished parts, computers and electronic configurations containing files with designs for several firearm models and ammunition. All seized material was handed over to the Burgas district prosecutor. Authorities said the raid reflects heightened global vigilance toward “ghost weapons” and could lead to new legislative and technical controls on home‑made firearms production.
