Bulgaria prepares Eurovision 2027 with new government committee

The Bulgarian government has set up a special organizational committee to oversee the preparation and staging of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027. Deputy Prime Minister Ivo Hristov will chair the body, which includes ministers of finance, foreign affairs, interior, health, culture, youth and sports, tourism, as well as the director of the national broadcaster BNT.

The committee is tasked with selecting a host city, securing venues, arranging accommodation, transport and technical infrastructure, and ensuring comprehensive security for the international audience. Sofia is currently the preferred location, but a final decision has not been made. Officials stress that the event is a strategic image project for Bulgaria, aiming to boost tourism and showcase the country on a global stage.
