Bulgaria proposes Rose Valley for 2027 UN Tourism forum

Bulgaria is positioning itself as a major hub for tourism development through several high-level initiatives. Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov has proposed that the Rose Valley host a UN Tourism forum dedicated to cultural tourism and education in late May 2027. This proposal, which has UNESCO support, could feature sites such as the Rose Museum in Kazanlak and the Valley of the Thracian Kings.

Additionally, the TRAVELX Forum 2027 is scheduled to take place from January 13 to 15, 2027, at the Plovdiv International Fair. Under the theme ‘Bulgaria: Europe’s Next Tourism Success Story?’, the congress aims to address the country’s competitiveness, data-driven management, and the diversification of tourism sectors beyond traditional sea and ski models to include wellness, gastronomy, and outdoor activities.
