Bulgarian government raises road vignette fees by 30% from August 2026

The Bulgarian government approved a decree to increase the price of road‑use vignettes by 30% starting 1 August 2026. The annual vignette will rise to €64.50 from €49.60, the quarterly to €35.90 from €27.61, the monthly to €19.90 from €15.34, the weekly to €10.00 from €7.67, the weekend sticker to €6.60 from €5.11 and the daily sticker to €5.30 from €4.09. The compensatory fee for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes will also increase from €35.79 to €46.50.

The price hike is expected to generate extra revenue of more than €22.5 million in 2026 and over €54 million each year thereafter. The government says the proceeds will be earmarked for major repairs and rehabilitation of third‑class roads, replacement of damaged barriers, new durable markings, autonomous lighting in hazardous zones, and upgrades to the electronic toll (TOL) system, including an expanded camera network and measures to keep unpaid fees below 2 % annually.
