Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova launch joint wine promotion under “Treasures of the East”
Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova are cooperating on a large‑scale wine promotion event titled “Treasures of the East”. The three neighbouring states will showcase their wines at a three‑day exhibition in Craiova, southwestern Romania, from 2 to 4 October. The programme includes a Bulgarian‑Romanian business forum, discussions on cross‑border franchising, market entry to the Romanian wine sector, and meetings with producers, tour operators, media and influencers.
The initiative, organised by the Romanian wine magazine Vinul.ro, also ties in the Vinul.ro Awards of Excellence, which will for the first time accept entries from Bulgarian and Moldovan wineries. Award‑winning wines will be added to the international “Treasures of the East” selection and promoted on Romanian and European markets. Organisers say the event gives Bulgarian wineries direct access to a regional consumer market of around five million people on both sides of the Danube and aims to position the three countries as a single competitive wine‑tourism region on the European and global map.
