Bulgaria rose flower production increases 31% in 2026

Bulgaria's rose flower production increased by 31% in 2026, reaching 9,555.9 tons compared to 6,607.8 tons in 2025, according to Agriculture Minister Plamen Abrovski. Of the total produced, approximately 9,308.7 tons were sent for processing, with 9,290.4 tons successfully processed.

Minister Abrovski stated that securing targeted funding through the European Union's Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is a top priority. He has proposed a “Special payment for the oil-bearing rose culture” in Brussels to ensure the sector has independent financial resources that do not rely solely on national decisions.

To protect the industry and ensure product authenticity, the Bulgarian government has allocated funds to establish a quality control laboratory for rose oil. This facility aims to guarantee the quality and build international trust in the authenticity of Bulgarian rose oil products.
