Bulgaria seeks Chinese industrial investment and manufacturing

Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investments and Industry Alexander Pulev is seeking to deepen economic ties with China by attracting high-tech manufacturing and industrial investments. During his visit to Xiamen for the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), Pulev met with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng to discuss transitioning diplomatic friendship into tangible economic outcomes.

Bulgaria is specifically targeting investments in the automotive sector, electronics, and green technologies. Pulev emphasized that the goal is for China to view Bulgaria not just as a consumer market, but as a strategic production hub in Southeast Europe. As part of these efforts, an invitation was extended to the electric and autonomous bus manufacturer King Long to visit Bulgaria and evaluate industrial sites.

A key objective of the mission is to address the significant trade imbalance between the two nations by fostering local production and creating jobs through real industrial presence.
