Bulgaria sets deadline for voting by current address

The deadline for Bulgarian voters to apply to vote at their current address for the upcoming presidential elections on October 25, 2026, is 18:00 today. This option is available to citizens whose permanent and current addresses are in different locations.

According to the Central Election Commission (CEC) schedule, once a voter is registered to vote at their current address, they are no longer eligible to receive a certificate to vote at a different location. Certificates for voting elsewhere are issued by municipal administrations, but only specific groups—including presidential and vice-presidential candidates, CEC members, district election commission members, and observers—can apply for such certificates at their permanent address.

Municipal administrations are required to submit information regarding these applications and the removal of voters from permanent lists to the General Directorate of Civil Registration and Administrative Services (GD GRAO) by October 14. Voters who have applied can check their assigned polling station after October 13, 2026, via the CEC’s ‘Elections 360°’ mobile application.
