Bulgaria: Trust in Radev government falls below 50%
A national poll conducted by Market Links in collaboration with bTV reveals a significant decline in public confidence regarding the government of Prime Minister Rumen Radev. For the first time since the beginning of the mandate, distrust in the cabinet (41%) has surpassed positive ratings (36%). This marks a sharp downturn from May, when the government held 50% trust and 24% distrust.
Prime Minister Rumen Radev's personal approval ratings have also reached a near-even split, with 41% expressing trust and 40% expressing distrust. Other political figures face high levels of disapproval, including Asen Vasilev (69% distrust), Kostadin Kostadinov (70% distrust), and Boyko Borisov (79% distrust). Delian Peevski recorded the highest level of distrust at 91%.
Sociologist Dobromir Zhivkov noted that while the decline in trust may be stabilizing, the negative trend is influenced by the current economic situation and rising prices. Additionally, political figures have criticized the administration's handling of recent events, including the arrest of local officials and security concerns in the Black Sea region.
