Bulgaria women's volleyball team advances to EuroVolley 2026 round of 16

The Bulgarian women's national volleyball team has qualified for the round of 16 at EuroVolley 2026. Despite a 0-3 defeat against the host Czech Republic in their final Group B match, Bulgaria secured advancement following Serbia's victory over Ukraine.

In the match against the Czech Republic in Brno, Bulgaria held significant leads in the first set, including a 17:8 advantage, but ultimately lost the set 26:28. The Czech Republic went on to win the subsequent sets 25:19 and 25:19. Alexandra Milanova was the top scorer for Bulgaria with 15 points.

Bulgaria will now face Italy, the reigning European champion and a tournament favorite, in the round of 16. The match is tentatively scheduled for August 30 or 31 in Brno.
