Bulgarian Black Sea tourism rebounds in 2026 as resorts fill up

The 2026 summer season on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast has recovered from an early shortfall of around 200,000 tourists. Minister of Tourism Iliyan Dimitrov reported that visitor numbers have caught up with last year’s pace and that resorts are now fully booked, with expectations of further growth in September. Local business owners in towns such as Sozopol noted the improvement, while price pressures were blamed on broader market dynamics rather than the tourism sector itself.

The minister emphasized that the season’s performance is on track and highlighted the positive impact on the national tourism industry.
