Bulgarian cities launch educational programs for National Awakeners' Day

Various educational initiatives are being organized across Bulgaria to commemorate National Awakeners' Day on November 1. These programs aim to teach students about the Bulgarian enlighteners, educators, and public figures who preserved the nation's spiritual and cultural heritage.

In Varna, the Museum of the Bulgarian Revival is hosting the ‘For the Awakeners’ program from October 26 to 30, 2026. The initiative includes presentations of historical documents and interactive workshops where students can practice traditional writing with quill and ink and create their own books.

In Stara Zagora, an educational adventure titled ‘Discover the Awakener’ is scheduled for October 29, 2026. Organized by the Youth Municipal Council and the Literary Club, the event features a scavenger hunt for students in grades 5 through 9. Participants will solve tasks at various locations to collect keys and complete a puzzle featuring a prominent local historical figure.
