Bulgarian clubs announce non‑compliance with 'Rule 4' for 2026‑27 efbet Liga
The Bulgarian Football Union (BFS) released the official declarations from first‑division clubs regarding the minimum‑Bulgarian‑player rule, known as “Rule 4”, for the 2026/27 efbet Liga season. The clubs that chose not to apply the rule and will pay the required administrative fee of €300,000 each are Levski, Ludogorets, CSKA and CSKA 1948.
In the same filings, the clubs also indicated the number of non‑EU players they intend to use beyond the standard quota. Levski, Ludogorets, CSKA and CSKA 1948 each plan to field eight foreign players from outside the European Union, while Botev Plovdiv will use six such players.
