Bulgarian Education Minister addresses students on drug prevention

Bulgarian Minister of Education and Science, Prof. Georgi Valchev, met with approximately 100 tenth and eleventh-grade students at the 30. SU ‘Bratya Miladinovi’ in Sofia. The meeting was part of the Ministry of Education and Science (MON) campaign titled ‘Just Say No’, which focuses on drug prevention, setting personal boundaries, and supporting peers in difficult situations.

During the event, Minister Valchev encouraged students to seek real human connection and support from family and friends rather than relying solely on digital communication. The initiative also featured actress Vesela Babinova, who shared a personal account regarding the mental health consequences of drug use. The event took place on October 26, a non-instructional day dedicated to student engagement initiatives across Bulgarian schools.
