Bulgarian Embassy Cars Damaged in Skopje Traffic Accident

Two BMW 5 Series vehicles owned by the Embassy of Bulgaria were damaged in separate traffic incidents in central Skopje at the end of last year and the start of this year. The insurance company assessed the damage and paid out, including a €15,000 settlement for the second case covering the replacement or repair of 41 parts on the diplomatic‑plate cars. The accidents were not reported to Macedonian police, with officials saying they appeared to involve a collision with a static object rather than another vehicle. It remains unclear whether Bulgarian ambassador Zheljasko Radukov was driving the cars. Macedonia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has requested detailed information and said a decision will be taken. The report also recalls a previous incident involving Macedonian ambassador Nenad Kolev, who allegedly caused a traffic collision in Moscow while intoxicated.
