Bulgarian Eurovision winner Dara's 'Bangaranga' gains European chart success and Spotify summer‑hit recognition

Bulgarian singer Dara won the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with the pop‑kitsch track "Bangaranga", marking Bulgaria’s first victory in the competition. In interviews she highlighted the song’s blend of K‑pop, American pop and Balkan influences, and expressed pride in putting Bulgaria on the international music map.

Following the win, "Bangaranga" entered Spotify’s official "Songs of Summer 2026" list, the first Eurovision entry to receive such a placement. Spotify cited strong global streaming numbers and playlist performance as key factors, suggesting the track could become a summer hit beyond the contest’s usual audience.

The song also charted widely across Europe, reaching number‑one in Bulgaria, Germany, Lithuania, Austria and Sweden, and securing top‑three positions in Finland, Croatia, Luxembourg and Switzerland. In Belgium, however, its performance was modest, peaking at #39 on the Flemish Ultratop 50 before dropping out after a week. Analysts noted reduced radio airplay and Spotify promotion as reasons for the weaker Flemish showing.
