Bulgarian farmer's son attacks journalists following anthrax outbreak
Tensions have escalated in the Bulgarian village of Stefanovo following a confirmed case of anthrax at a local cattle farm. During a reporting assignment, a media team from Nova Televizija was attacked by the owners of the infected farm while attempting to film a buffer zone established by health authorities.
The son of the farm owner reportedly attempted to strike the journalists twice, first using a light vehicle and subsequently using a tractor. Local police were called to the scene and detained the individual responsible. Residents of the village noted that the family has a history of aggressive behavior and disregard for the law. Veterinary authorities continue to conduct epidemiological studies and testing in the area.
