Bulgarian Finance Minister confirms legal actions for Plovdiv Fair shares

Bulgarian Finance Minister Gǎlb Donev has confirmed all procedural actions previously taken by the Ministry of Economy and Industry regarding a legal dispute over the ownership of 29% of the capital of International Fair Plovdiv AD.

The Supreme Court of Cassation had previously ruled that the state was not properly represented in the case, as the lawsuit was being led by the Minister of Economy rather than the Minister of Finance, who is the legally designated representative for such civil disputes. By submitting the required confirmation within the court-mandated deadline, the Ministry of Finance has allowed the legal proceedings to continue.

The dispute, which began in July 2023, involves a claim by the state to be recognized as a shareholder and to invalidate the transfer of these shares to Puldin Turinvest. The case involves the Varna Municipality and seeks to establish the state's rights over the contested shares.
