Bulgarian Financial Supervision Commission warns of Facebook investment scams
The Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) has issued a warning regarding fraudulent dealers targeting citizens via Facebook. These scammers are using fake profiles that impersonate the Association of Management Companies (BAUD), utilizing the organization’s name, visual identity, and communication elements to deceive users.
The fraudulent profiles send invitations to engage in financial instrument transactions and asset management. The FSC warns that these messages pose a significant risk of deception and potential financial fraud.
To protect themselves, the FSC advises potential investors to verify the authenticity of profiles and the identity of individuals before sharing personal data, financial account access, or funds. Investors are encouraged to consult the FSC website to check the list of licensed companies and their official communication channels. If suspicious activity is encountered, the commission recommends ceasing contact and reporting the matter to the Ministry of Interior and the FSC.
