Bulgarian government allocates €28.7 million for schools, sports facilities and teacher transport
The Bulgarian cabinet approved more than €28.7 million for the education sector. Over €10.6 million will reimburse transport and accommodation costs for 18,305 teachers and other pedagogical staff across 2,921 state and municipal institutions, including rent for 46 educators.
€8.987 million is earmarked for infrastructure upgrades: €2.136 million for the construction and expansion of kindergartens and schools in three state professional high schools and 13 municipalities, €4.237 million for repairing and building sports halls and playgrounds in eight state schools and 29 municipalities, and €2.614 million for renovating and furnishing student dormitories. An additional €9.132 million will fund compensation for education‑sector employees whose contracts ended between January and April 2026.
