Bulgarian household wealth jumps 25% between 2020 and 2025

The UBS Global Wealth Report shows that average wealth per adult in Bulgaria increased by more than 25% in real terms over the 2020‑2025 period, placing the country among the world’s fastest growers of personal wealth. Total household net worth reached roughly €555 billion by the end of 2025, a record level driven by higher incomes, rising real‑estate values, stronger financial‑asset holdings and stable economic growth.

The rise in wealth coincided with a growth in the number of Bulgarian millionaires, although Bulgaria was not among the nations with the highest absolute increase in new dollar‑millionaires. Analysts note that wealth gains remain unevenly distributed, with parts of the population still facing low incomes and rising living costs. Globally, the report also recorded continued growth in total wealth, led by the United States, which added the most new millionaires.

Overall, the data highlights Bulgaria’s strong improvement in household prosperity relative to other European countries, while also underscoring persistent inequality within the nation.
