Bulgarian job market remains stable in September
The Bulgarian labor market remained stable in September, with 37,251 job advertisements posted, representing a negligible decrease of 0.04% compared to August. According to an analysis by the HR company JobTiger, the market entered a period of stagnation following a nearly 6% increase in August.
On an annual basis, job postings have decreased by approximately 9.5% compared to September 2025. The IT sector has seen the most significant year-on-year decline, dropping by about 22%.
Sectoral trends showed growth in trade and sales (up 7.4%), marketing and advertising (up 8.7%), and human resources (up 8%). Conversely, the hospitality and restaurant sector saw a decline of 5.7%, which analysts attribute partly to the end of the summer season. Other declines were noted in accounting, finance, manufacturing, and IT.
Geographically, Sofia saw a 4% increase in job postings, while Varna and Ruse experienced decreases of 6% and 5%, respectively. Sofia remains the primary hub, accounting for approximately 40% of all monitored advertisements.
