Bulgarian Ministry of Culture discusses funding and strategic policy
The Bulgarian Ministry of Culture is engaging with local authorities and industry representatives to enhance the development and sustainability of the cultural sector.
In Ruse, Deputy Minister of Culture Marina Vasileva met with Mayor Pencho Milkov to discuss the funding of major local events, including the Marten Music Days, the 50th anniversary of the Ruse Jazz Festival, and the International Theatre Festival ‘Autumn Theatre Meetings’. The discussions focused on the need for predictable financing to allow organizers to plan long-term programs and the importance of cooperation between the state, local government, and independent organizations.
Additionally, Minister of Culture Evtim Miloshev met with various non-governmental organizations and industry associations to support the ‘Charter for Cultural Policy - 2026’. The Ministry views this document as a strategic framework for developing the cultural industry.
