Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues travel warning for Europe

The Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a warning to citizens currently in or planning to travel to France, Italy, Belgium, and Portugal due to widespread protests and civil unrest. Significant disturbances have been reported in cities including Paris, Milan, Brussels, and Lisbon, resulting in clashes with law enforcement and disruptions to public transportation.

While the situation in Italy is reportedly stabilizing, tensions are expected to persist in France, with potential new strikes targeting public transit. The Ministry advises travelers to exercise increased caution, avoid large gatherings and central squares, and follow the instructions of local authorities. Travelers are encouraged to check transport schedules in advance and monitor local updates regarding street or metro closures.

For assistance, Bulgarian citizens can contact the embassies in Paris and Rome or the Consulate General in Milan. The Ministry’s 24-hour Situation Center is also available for emergency support.
