Bulgaria President Iliana Yotova Refuses Budget Veto, Triggering Political Fallout
Bulgaria’s Ministry of Finance released the consolidated fiscal programme data for June 2026, showing total revenues of €21.574 bn, an 8.1% increase year‑on‑year, with tax‑social contributions making up 82.5% of receipts. Non‑tax revenues fell 9.9% and capital spending rose due to EU recovery projects, bringing total expenditures to €23.990 bn and a budget deficit of 1.9% of GDP.
President Iliana Yotova chose not to exercise a veto over the 2026 budget.
