Bulgarian MP Toma Bikov criticizes government inaction
Toma Bikov, a Member of Parliament from the GERB-SDS party, has expressed strong criticism regarding the current Bulgarian government's performance. Speaking to bTV, Bikov stated that the period of tolerance for the administration has ended, arguing that despite initial patience, the government has failed to achieve significant results.
Bikov highlighted that no meaningful laws have been passed in the last five months and criticized the lack of economic measures to address rising costs. He specifically noted that business electricity bills and natural gas prices are expected to increase by 30%, warning that the government has failed to implement restrictions to counter these external economic factors.
Regarding the upcoming presidential elections, Bikov addressed GERB's decision not to field a candidate. While he personally believed a candidate was necessary to ensure a more active campaign, he noted that the decision was made in accordance with the party majority. He suggested that the current campaign lacks vitality without a GERB contender and predicted that the government may face a political crisis driven by public dissatisfaction rather than opposition pressure.
