Bulgarian National Audit Office sets donor reporting deadline
Participants in the upcoming presidential elections must submit information regarding their donors to the Bulgarian National Audit Office by September 30. This requirement applies to political parties and initiative committees, who must provide the data in both paper and electronic formats for publication in the Unified Register under the Electoral Code (ERIK).
The submitted information must include details on donors, the type and amount of donations, and data regarding candidates or committee members who provided funds. If a single individual's total contribution exceeds one minimum wage, declarations regarding the source of those funds must also be included. Additionally, participants must disclose the names of any sociological, advertising, or PR agencies they employ.
During the campaign, new information must be submitted within a seven-day period. Final reports on campaign income and expenditures are due by December 4, or by December 11 in the event of a runoff. The Audit Office will subsequently conduct audits for compliance on declared income and expenditures exceeding 511.29 euros.
