Bulgarian Olympic Committee delegation visits IOC headquarters

A delegation from the Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC), led by President Vesela Lecheva, conducted a three-day official visit to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) headquarters in Lausanne. The visit, held at the invitation of IOC President Kirsty Coventry, included more than ten high-level meetings with the IOC leadership and experts.

Key topics of discussion included strategic partnerships, new funding opportunities for Bulgarian athletes, youth programs, and regional sports development. The delegation also addressed the future of Olympians after their active careers, standards for good governance, and the modernization of sports structures through digitalization and improved technology for national federations.

The delegation included BOC Executive Board members, such as Vice President and National Sports Academy Rector Prof. Krasimir Petkov, and athlete representative and snowboarder Radoslav Yankov. Discussions also touched upon overcoming recent challenges faced by the BOC and the potential for a new home for the committee.
