Bulgarian Olympic Committee releases Dakar 2026 handbook

The Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC) has released a handbook dedicated to the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal. The publication includes biographies of Bulgarian athletes, details on the delegation's composition, the event program, venue information, and the history of previous Bulgarian participations.

BOC President Vesela Lecheva presented the handbook, noting it will serve as a valuable memento for the team members. The 2026 Games, which were rescheduled from 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be the first Youth Olympics held on the African continent. They are scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 13, 2026.

Bulgaria will be represented by 17 young athletes competing in 13 different sports. The competition will be centered in three main areas of Senegal: the capital city of Dakar, the developing city of Diamniadio (home to the Olympic Village), and the coastal town of Saly.
